In addition to Great Bear Campground, the Hagerman family operates a sugar bush in close proximity. While camping, tour the maple groves, visit the Bear's Den Antiques and see actual maple processing equipment. In addition to the modern processing equipment, examples of antique tools and machinery are on display in the Bear's Den. Mel Hagerman has p roduced a document entitled "The Magic of Maple" which can be used to assist teachers as a follow-up to a field trip to Great Bear Sugar Bush.
